No P20 Rice Sales on All Souls’ Day, Operations to Resume
on Regular Schedule
The government’s P20-per-kilo rice distribution program will
temporarily suspend sales on November 2, 2026, in observance of All Souls’ Day.
In an advisory posted on the program’s official Facebook
page, organizers confirmed that participating P20 Centers will not sell
subsidized rice on Monday. Distribution activities are expected to resume
according to the regular operating schedules of individual centers.
The temporary suspension applies to the nationwide Benteng
Bigas, Meron Na! initiative, which provides eligible beneficiaries access to
rice at ₱20 per kilogram, offering relief from prevailing food costs.
Qualified recipients include senior citizens, persons with
disabilities, solo parents, minimum-wage and low-income workers, transport
sector employees, indigent households, and registered agricultural workers.
The program sources its rice supply from Filipino farmers
through the National Food Authority (NFA), connecting government-assisted food
distribution with locally produced agricultural commodities.
Beneficiaries are advised to check their respective P20 Centers for the next scheduled selling dates to avoid unnecessary trips during the temporary suspension.
