Talakudong Festival 2026: Tacurong City Gets Ready for a Month of Culture, Community, and Celebration
The countdown to Talakudong Festival 2026 is
underway, and Tacurong City is preparing for a celebration that brings together
culture, entertainment, community service, sports, livelihood, and local
creativity.
Running from August 1 through September 30, this
year’s festival offers a wide-ranging calendar of activities designed to engage
residents and visitors of all ages. Rather than being confined to a single
celebration day, Talakudong 2026 unfolds across several weeks, turning
different parts of the city into venues for community gatherings and festive
activities.
At the heart of the celebration is a program that reflects
the many facets of Tacurong life, from traditional festivities and civic events
to youth activities, artistic competitions, public service initiatives, and
family-oriented programs.
A Festival That Starts Before September
One of the earliest activities on the calendar is the Surgical
Mission, scheduled from August 1 to September 30. The extended
schedule gives the festival a strong community-service component, placing
public welfare alongside the cultural and entertainment activities.
Beginning September 1, the city shifts into a more
visibly festive mode with Eats Talakudong, a food fair at the City
Hall Grounds, running until September 18. At the same time, Agri/Trade
Fair & Flea Market activities will occupy Quezon Avenue,
offering a venue where local products, agricultural goods, merchandise, and
entrepreneurial initiatives can take center stage.
The festival also puts attention on responsible pet
ownership. On September 9, Pets' Day: Spay and Neuter will be
held at the Tacurong City Cultural & Sports Center.
Creativity Takes Center Stage
Artistic expression will be another defining feature of
Talakudong Festival 2026.
From September 11 to 13, the Tacurong 3D
Interactive Mural Competition will transform Tacurong Pilot Elementary
School into a showcase of visual creativity. The activity gives artists and
participants an opportunity to bring public spaces to life through imaginative
works.
Photography enthusiasts will also have something to
anticipate through Igpat Sang Kamera 2026, scheduled from September
14 to 19 at the Tacurong City Hall Lobby exhibition area.
The festival's creative program demonstrates that Talakudong
is not simply about performances and parades. It also provides platforms for
artists, photographers, students, and other members of the community to
contribute their talents to the celebration.
Fitness and Community Activities
For those who prefer an active way to celebrate, the Talakudong
Fun Run will take place on September 13, featuring 10-kilometer,
5-kilometer, and 3-kilometer categories. The route will run from the City
Hall Grounds toward San Antoniyo Highway, giving participants a chance to
enjoy the city while taking part in a community fitness activity.
The same period will feature Bugal Sang Tacurong, a
livelihood fair scheduled from September 13 to 18 at the City Hall
Grounds. The event highlights another important dimension of the festival
by providing space for livelihood initiatives and local enterprise.
September 14: A Major Day for Talakudong
The festival reaches one of its busiest points on September
14, with several major activities scheduled throughout the day.
The celebration begins at 6:00 a.m. with the Civic
Parade, Drum and Lyre Parade, taking participants around the City of
Tacurong. At 7:00 a.m., a Thanksgiving Mass will be held at the Tacurong
City Cultural and Sports Center.
The morning festivities continue at 8:30 a.m. with
the Opening Program and Talakudong Beat: Drum and Lyre Competition at
the City Hall Grounds.
As evening arrives, the festival takes on a musical
character with Musikasadja Sa Talakudong Festival 2026, scheduled for 7:00
p.m. at the City Hall Grounds.
With civic participation, faith, music, and performance
packed into a single day, September 14 is set to be one of the most
event-filled dates on the Talakudong calendar.
A Celebration for Every Generation
Talakudong Festival 2026 also makes room for activities
focused on specific sectors of the community.
On September 15, Libreng Gupit will be held at
the City Hall Grounds beginning at 8:00 a.m., followed by Kantahan Ng
Kabataan at 4:00 p.m.
The day concludes with Shining With Pride: LGBTQIA+ &
Makasining Lahi Night, scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at the City Hall
Grounds. The program adds another layer of inclusivity to the festival,
recognizing diverse voices and creative expression within the community.
Dance enthusiasts can look forward to Talakudong Street
Jam Battle 5.0 on September 16 at 5:00 p.m., also at the City Hall
Grounds.
The following day, September 17, brings generations
together through Celebrating Generations: A Day for Children and the Elderly
at Magsaysay Park, beginning at 6:00 a.m.
A professional development component is also scheduled that
day, with Filipino Brand of Service Excellence Training taking place at Beldent
Star Hotel at 8:00 a.m.
Later in the afternoon, the festival takes to the skies and
streets with Talakudong Aero-Marathon 3.0, scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
at the City Hall Grounds.
The Grand Finale: Street Dancing and Culmination Night
The biggest visual spectacle of the festival is set for September
18.
At 6:00 a.m., the Festival Parade, Lumbayag Sa
Dalanon, Kag Kiay-Kiay Sa Talakudong, featuring the much-anticipated street
dancing, will move around the City of Tacurong.
The celebration continues at 9:00 a.m. with the Festival
Program and demonstration at the City Hall Grounds.
By evening, the festival heads toward its finale with Culmination
Night and Live Band at 6:00 p.m., providing a fitting conclusion to
the main stretch of Talakudong Festival activities.
While the September 18 program marks the culmination of the
central festival activities, the broader Talakudong calendar continues until
the end of September through the extended community and service programs.
More Than a Festival
The schedule of Talakudong Festival 2026 reveals a
celebration built around more than entertainment. Its lineup connects culture
with livelihood, sports with wellness, art with community spaces, and public
service with civic participation.
Food fairs and trade activities provide opportunities for
local enterprises. Competitions give young people and artists platforms to
showcase their abilities. Community programs create opportunities for different
generations and sectors to participate. Meanwhile, the parades, street dancing,
music, and cultural activities bring the entire city together in a shared
celebration.
For residents of Tacurong and visitors planning to
experience the festivities, the best way to enjoy Talakudong 2026 is to mark
the important dates early and make room for the activities that match their
interests.
From food and music to art, sports, community service, and
the colorful spectacle of street dancing, Talakudong Festival 2026 is
shaping up to be a celebration where the entire city has a place in the
festivities.
Save the dates, gather your family and friends, and get ready to experience Talakudong.
