Oatside Addresses Philippine Supply Shortage as Consumers Search for Limited Stocks Nationwide

Oatside has acknowledged the growing frustration among Filipino consumers as its products become increasingly difficult to find on supermarket shelves, assuring customers that replenishment efforts are already underway.

The Singapore-based oat milk brand addressed the issue on June 19 through its Threads account after numerous buyers in the Philippines reported empty shelves and repeated failed attempts to purchase their preferred variant. The company recognized the inconvenience caused by the shortage and said its team is actively working to restore supply.

Rather than offering a specific timeline, Oatside encouraged its community to help fellow customers locate available stocks. The brand invited consumers to share sightings of Oatside products by identifying the grocery stores and branches where they had recently found them. The initiative effectively turned its customer base into an informal information network at a time when demand appears to be outpacing availability.

As discussions intensified online, allegations of hoarding also surfaced. Some social media users suggested that individuals were purchasing large quantities of Oatside products, making them even harder for ordinary shoppers to obtain. While acknowledging the comments, the company refrained from validating the accusations and instead expressed confidence in the goodwill of its consumers.

The shortage has sparked a wave of reactions across social media platforms. Filipino buyers have openly shared their difficulty locating Oatside in nearby supermarkets, with some seeking recommendations on alternative sources. Others admitted they had temporarily switched to different milk brands while waiting for stocks to normalize.

A number of consumers also voiced concerns over inflated prices in certain delivery platforms. For some, paying a premium significantly above regular retail pricing was not a practical option, particularly for a product that has become a staple in their daily routines.

Oatside's popularity in the Philippines extends beyond novelty. The brand has carved out a strong following among coffee enthusiasts, café operators, and households seeking plant-based alternatives. Its appeal lies largely in its versatility. The oat milk is known for producing a smooth microfoam suitable for espresso-based beverages while maintaining a balanced flavor profile that complements rather than overwhelms coffee and tea.

Its role in many kitchens and cafés helps explain why the shortage has generated such a noticeable reaction. For consumers who have incorporated Oatside into their everyday habits, the absence of the product feels less like an inconvenience and more like discovering that a familiar ingredient has suddenly disappeared from the recipe.

Despite the current supply constraints, Oatside products remain part of the inventory of major retail channels in the country. The brand is typically available through online marketplaces such as Shopee and Lazada, as well as supermarket chains including Landers, Puregold, Shopwise, Waltermart, S&R, Unimart, and Robinsons Supermarket.

Until distribution stabilizes, many Filipino consumers appear willing to do what they can to help one another track down remaining stocks. For now, the hunt for Oatside continues while customers await the brand's promised restocking efforts.
