P-pop group SB19 is taking center stage in the Philippines'
regional diplomacy efforts through music, performing Together in Motion, the
official theme song of the 2026 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)
Summit.
The song sets the tone for the Philippines' hosting of the
high-level gathering, using themes of unity, shared aspirations, and regional
cooperation to reflect the collective identity of Southeast Asian nations.
Composed by Anya Lagman and arranged by Jimmy Antiporda and
Louie Ocampo, the track was released alongside its official music video on
Tourism Philippines' social media platforms on October 3. Its lyrics draw on
imagery of the sea, changing tides, and a common journey, presenting ASEAN as a
region whose strength lies in moving forward with a shared vision.
SB19's participation also highlights the growing role of
Filipino artists in promoting the country's identity beyond its borders. The
group, together with fellow P-pop act BINI, was named among the Philippines'
newest tourism ambassadors in July, placing two prominent homegrown acts at the
forefront of the country's international tourism campaign.
The 2026 ASEAN Summit will take place from November 10 to
12, bringing together leaders from Southeast Asia and other participating
countries. Related activities are scheduled to continue through November 15.
With SB19 delivering the summit's musical centerpiece, the
Philippines is using the reach of P-pop to complement its diplomatic role and
communicate a message of regional solidarity to audiences at home and abroad.
