From a record-breaking 317-car parade to an 820-car meet, Clark
International Festival of Speed brought together car culture, motorsport, and
the next generation of Filipino engineers.
The Clark International Festival of Speed (CIFOS) 2026 has raised the bar
for Philippine car culture, breaking its own Tour d’Elegance parade record and
setting a new national benchmark with 820 assorted-make cars at the CIFOS: On
The Grid car meet.
Held October 16–18 at Clark International Speedway, the festival brought
together car clubs, automotive brands, racers, industry leaders, photographers,
and fans for three days celebrating everything around motorsport.
TOUR D’ELEGANCE: 317 CARS, 36 CAR GROUPS
The Tour d’Elegance parade grew from 236 cars in 2025 to 317 cars in
2026, smashing last year’s record. This year, CIFOS also treated the
drivers with a 3-lap track run instead of just one.
PMGen. Lina Sarmiento, Vice President for Security Services Group,
highlighted the role of events like CIFOS in supporting tourism across Pampanga
and Central Luzon.
“CIFOS is more than just cars and competition. It is about the friendships
formed, families brought together and communities strengthened through a shared
passion,” she said.
For Clark International Speedway president Johnny Tan, the turnout is a
sign of what the festival can become.
“The vision for the next five years is to continue doing this and make it
bigger. I was surprised that we grew from six car groups last year to 36 this
year. Hopefully, we can get even more groups to support us next year,” Tan
said.
Beyond the numbers, the growing turnout adds to Clark’s appeal as a
destination for sports tourism and major motoring events.
820 ON THE GRID: PHILIPPINES' BIGGEST CAR MEET
CIFOS 2026’s On The Grid car meet on October 17 drew over 820 cars,
earning the new distinction of being the Philippines’ biggest car meet
featuring assorted makes.
The venue felt more like a motorsport Coachella, with cars filling the
grounds, two music sound stages setting the mood, and enthusiasts connecting
over a shared passion. From different makes and builds to the people behind the
wheel, the meet celebrated the diversity of the country’s car community and the
camaraderie that brings it together.
UNDER THE HOOD: INSPIRING FUTURE ENGINEERS
UNDER THE
HOOD: INSPIRING FUTURE ENGINEERS CIFOS also looked beyond the cars through
Under the Hood, its educational motorsport program created to bring students
closer to the engineering and technology behind racing.
For the
2026 edition, CIFOS partnered with Tuason Racing School to lead the educational
pit lane and paddock tours, giving students a closer look at vehicle
technology, racing safety, aerodynamics, mechanical performance, and
sustainable mobility.
A total of
171 students from different schools and universities joined the program,
including students from institutions known for their engineering programs such
as Mapúa University and the University of Santo Tomas.
Leading
the tours was Arthur “AT” Tuason of Tuason Racing. Tuason comes from a family
with deep roots in Philippine racing. He is the son of multi-awarded racer Jean
Pierre “JP” Tuason and grandson of the late legendary Filipino race car driver
Arthur Tuason.
A
multi-awarded karter in his younger years, he has since moved into car racing,
competing locally and internationally. Behind every racing driver is a team of
engineers, technicians, and innovators helping push the sport forward.
Through
Under the Hood, CIFOS 2026 gave students the opportunity to connect what they
learn in the classroom with real-world motorsport and see how the industry can
open doors to careers in engineering, technology, and mobility.
FRAMES OF SPEED: CELEBRATING MOTOSPORTS CREATORS
Frames of Speed in collaboration with Sony Philippines, has also
cemented its place as the Philippines’ biggest motorsports photography and
videography competition, attracting 90 participants this year, up from more
than 70 during its debut last year. The 4-Wheels category winners and finalists
were recognized on opening day, receiving certificates, trophies, and prizes
for their work.
