Lea Salonga has cemented another historic milestone in her decades-long career, becoming the first Filipina to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The award-winning actress and singer was formally honored on September 4 in Hollywood, where her star was unveiled at 6225 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Pantages Theatre. She is the 2,855th individual to receive a star and part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026.

The ceremony drew hundreds of fans and featured appearances from several prominent entertainers, including Ming-Na Wen, Brandy, Darren Criss, and Filipino-American singer H.E.R.

The significance of the moment was evident when Salonga saw her name permanently etched along Hollywood Boulevard. Overcome with emotion, she knelt beside the newly unveiled star and touched her name as the crowd celebrated the achievement.

For Salonga, the recognition represented more than a personal career achievement. It marked the culmination of a journey that began when she was a seven-year-old performer in Manila and eventually led her to some of the biggest stages in international entertainment.

Brandy, who portrayed Cinderella in Disney's television adaptation opposite Filipino-American actor Paolo Montalban, also celebrated Salonga's extraordinary vocal legacy.

The singer-actress recalled performing alongside Salonga in a recent Disney Princess presentation featuring A Whole New World from Aladdin. Salonga previously provided the singing voice for Princess Jasmine, adding another notable Disney connection to her career.
