FKJ Releases Tyber as New Album Expands His
Boundary-Pushing Sound
French multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer
FKJ has officially released his third studio album, Tyber, a 12-track project
that further establishes his distinctive position at the intersection of
electronic music, jazz, soul and live instrumentation.
The album arrives as FKJ prepares for an extensive
international headline tour, with five Southeast Asian performances scheduled
in Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Taipei from late November
through December 2026.
Tyber represents a significant evolution in FKJ's approach
to music. Rather than treating electronic production and live musicianship as
opposing forces, he uses technology to amplify the character of instruments
including piano, saxophone, drums, bass, guitar, percussion and synthesizers.
The result is deliberately difficult to place within a
single genre. Its tracks move through different musical territories while
maintaining the intricate arrangements, improvisational elements and layered
textures that have become central to FKJ's work.
A Record Built Across Continents
FKJ developed Tyber while moving between London, Los
Angeles, Paris, Brazil and Mexico. Those changing surroundings became part of
the album's creative foundation, giving the project a sense of movement and
continual transformation.
The record also brings together a diverse group of
collaborators. Baby Rose appears on Burst, Eryn Allen Kane contributes to I
Want U, Bas features on Heavy Heart, Labrinth joins Little Little Voice, and
Lucy Park appears on How Much Does It Take To Shift It All.
Each guest adds a different vocal and creative character to
the project without displacing FKJ's central musical identity. Their
contributions instead broaden the album's palette, much like additional
instruments being introduced into an evolving live arrangement.
The album's public rollout began with Soulmates and
continued through a series of singles that gradually revealed its musical
direction. Before its official release, fans in several parts of the world were
also given early access through exclusive listening events, including
gatherings in Taiwan and Indonesia.
Music and Visuals Form One Creative World
The Tyber campaign extends beyond the music itself. FKJ has
accompanied the album with cinematic live films filmed in Japan, presenting the
artist performing while travelling through space aboard a spacecraft.
The visual concept draws from the atmosphere of FKJ's
otherworldly home studio and reflects several of the ideas behind the album.
Movement, transformation and change serve as recurring themes, allowing the
music videos and live films to function as part of the same creative universe
rather than as standalone promotional material.
That approach mirrors the character of the album itself.
Tyber is less a collection of isolated songs than an interconnected musical
environment where different sounds, collaborators and influences occupy their
own spaces.
FKJ Brings Tyber to Southeast Asia
The new album will soon move from streaming platforms to the
concert stage as FKJ launches a global headline tour covering Europe, North
America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

The Asian dates are particularly significant given FKJ's
established audience in the region. His connection with Southeast Asia dates
back to 2016, when he made his debut in Bangkok with an intimate DJ and live
performance.
He returned in 2017 for an Asia tour that included Bangkok,
Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. His 2023 Asia tour expanded considerably, taking
him to Jakarta, Bali, Taipei, Bangkok, Hong Kong for Clockenflap, Manila for
Wanderland, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Several of those performances sold out,
reinforcing the strength of his following across the region.
A Career Defined by Live Musicianship
FKJ has built an international reputation by challenging the
conventional separation between electronic production and instrumental
performance. Frequently associated with the New French House movement, he has
developed a recognizable method centered on looping, improvisation, live
playing and meticulous production.
His musical vocabulary reaches well beyond electronic music,
incorporating elements of jazz, soul, classical, hip-hop, funk and rock. His
French roots remain an important part of his identity, while years of
international travel and collaboration have continued to widen the scope of his
work.
That combination has translated into a substantial global
audience. FKJ currently has more than 4.6 million fans across platforms, over 4
billion global streams and 2.5 million YouTube subscribers.
Live performance remains particularly important to his
artistic identity. His concerts are not designed simply as reproductions of
studio recordings. Instead, FKJ allows compositions to develop organically
onstage, giving familiar material room to change through improvisation and
interaction with the audience.
With Tyber, that philosophy takes another step forward. The
album establishes the framework, but its upcoming world tour will provide the
space for those compositions to evolve in real time.
