SuperManila Comic Con 2026 is raising expectations for this
year's convention after unveiling an impressive roster of internationally
recognized comic book creators set to appear during the three-day event in
September. Bringing together celebrated writers, illustrators, and cover
artists from the world's biggest comic publishers, the convention continues to
strengthen its position as one of the Philippines' premier gatherings for comic
book enthusiasts and pop culture collectors.
Now in its fourth edition, SuperManila Comic Con will run
from September 4 to 6 at One Ayala in Makati, utilizing both The
Space on Level 5 and the Concourse on Level 2. The expanded venue
reflects the event's continued growth as it attracts fans eager to meet some of
the industry's most influential creative talents.
The convention's first lineup features an exceptional mix of
veteran legends and contemporary artists whose work has shaped iconic comic
book franchises across Marvel, DC, Image Comics, and other major publishers.
Among the headline guests is Mike Zeck, whose artwork
helped define landmark comic book stories including The Punisher: Circle of
Blood, Kraven's Last Hunt, and Secret Wars. The latter
remains one of Marvel's most influential crossover events and serves as the
inspiration behind the upcoming Avengers film. Zeck, who has been
residing in Metro Manila since 2022, is expected to be one of the convention's
biggest attractions.
Joining him is veteran illustrator Greg LaRocque,
widely recognized for his memorable work during the Wally West era of The
Flash. His extensive portfolio also includes celebrated Marvel characters
such as Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Moon Knight, Iron Fist, and Power Man.
The guest roster also highlights some of today's most sought
after comic artists, including Derrick Chew, renowned for his striking
interpretations of Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Catwoman, and
Spider-Man. Marvel executive and comic creator C.B. Cebulski is likewise
confirmed to attend, alongside Kendrick Lim, Eric Canete, Rudy
Ao, Danny Kim, Ejikure, Jeon In-pyo, Stanley
Artgerm Lau, Thomas Healy, David Tran, Lee Jee-hyung,
and acclaimed Filipino creator Ian Sta. Maria.
Eric Canete's artistic reach extends beyond superhero
comics, with contributions to franchises such as Transformers, Ben 10,
and Tron. Meanwhile, Rudy Ao has produced cover art for popular titles
including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Crow, showcasing
the diverse range of talent participating in this year's convention.
Returning for her third consecutive SuperManila appearance
is Peach Momoko, whose distinctive art style has earned worldwide
recognition through her work on Marvel titles featuring the X-Men and
Spider-Man. Organizers also confirmed that additional Filipino comic creators
and illustrators will be announced in the coming weeks, with notable names such
as Manix Abrera and Stephen Segovia expected to join the growing guest list.
For comic conventions, meeting legendary creators is often
comparable to sports fans meeting championship athletes or music lovers
encountering iconic performers. Every autograph represents a direct connection
to the individuals who transformed stories into unforgettable visual
experiences, making signed collectibles prized possessions for many fans.
Attendees will have the opportunity to bring comics, graphic
novels, posters, art prints, toys, trading cards, collectibles, and other
merchandise related to each guest's work for autograph sessions. However,
organizers reminded fans that signings and photographs remain subject to each
artist's availability and discretion, particularly during periods of high
demand. Some creators may also impose autograph fees, quantity limits, or offer
exclusive commissions and quick sketches for fortunate attendees.
With an internationally acclaimed lineup already confirmed and more announcements expected soon, SuperManila Comic Con 2026 is shaping up to be one of the country's biggest celebrations of comic books, illustration, and pop culture.
