LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte | Laoag City is preparing to make its mark on the Philippine endurance sports scene as it becomes the newest host of the IRONMAN 70.3 series in 2027.

The inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Laoag will introduce one of the world's most recognized triathlon events to Ilocos Norte for the first time, expanding the country's growing portfolio of international endurance races while putting the northern Luzon capital in the spotlight.

The race will challenge competitors across the standard IRONMAN 70.3 distance of a 1.9-kilometer swim, 90-kilometer bike ride and 21.1-kilometer run. Its course is designed to combine competitive speed with the distinct coastal and urban landscapes of Laoag.

Athletes will begin in the waters of Sadiri Beach before transitioning to the expansive roads of northern Ilocos Norte. The final leg will bring competitors into the city's historic streets, creating a race route that connects the province's coastline, countryside and cultural center.
