Philippines to Host 30th Miss Tourism International Pageant in December

 

The Philippines is set to take center stage in the international tourism and pageantry scene as it hosts the 30th Miss Tourism International competition on December 15 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.

Around 70 international delegates are expected to participate in the grand final, with contestants scheduled to arrive in the country from December 4 to 6.

The Philippines securing hosting rights marks a significant development for the country, which has established a strong record in the Miss Tourism International competition. The 2026 edition was originally planned for China, but visa procurement concerns involving international delegates prompted the transfer of the event to the Philippines.

The hosting announcement was made by ALV Pageant Circle president Arnold Vegafria during a press conference at the Newport Performing Arts Theater.

The 2026 competition will also feature two additional international titles aside from the main Miss Tourism International crown, expanding the pageant’s recognition of tourism and cultural representation.

Tourism, Food and P-pop to Take the Spotlight

Organizers are positioning the Philippine edition as more than a traditional beauty competition. The event is expected to showcase the country’s tourism destinations, culinary identity and growing P-pop culture to an international audience.

ALV Pageant Circle has also begun discussions with various provinces regarding the staging of preliminary activities, including the swimsuit competition and talent presentation.

These activities could bring portions of the international pageant beyond Metro Manila, giving participating delegates opportunities to experience different Philippine destinations while highlighting local communities and attractions.

Philippines Has Six Miss Tourism International Winners

The Philippines has captured the Miss Tourism International crown six times, with all six victories coming from delegates of the Mutya ng Pilipinas organization.

The country’s winners are:

• 2000: Ma. Esperanza Corazon Peachie Manzano
• 2012: Razzini Alexis Gomez
• 2013: Angeli Dion Gomez
• 2017: Jannie Laudette Alipo-on
• 2019: Cyrille Payumo
• 2024: Liana Rose Barrido

The latest Philippine victory came in 2024 through Liana Rose Barrido, further strengthening the country’s record in the international competition.

ALV Pageant Circle assumed the national franchise after Mutya ng Pilipinas crowned its 2025 titleholder.

30th Anniversary Edition

The 2026 competition carries additional significance as Miss Tourism International celebrates its 30th anniversary. Hosting the milestone edition places the Philippines at the center of an international event that combines pageantry with tourism promotion.

With approximately 70 delegates expected to compete, the December 15 final will serve as the culmination of the Philippine-hosted edition, following the arrival and preliminary activities beginning in early December.

The event is expected to provide an international platform for Philippine destinations, cuisine and contemporary cultural influences while giving delegates an opportunity to experience the country beyond the pageant stage.
