Joss Way-Ar Open to Future Collaborations With Filipino Actors

Thai actor Joss Way-Ar has expressed his willingness to work with Filipino performers, signaling growing interest in future entertainment projects between Thailand and the Philippines.

During his first visit to Manila, Way-Ar discussed the possibility of collaborating with local actors at the press conference for the Star Magic All-Star Games at the Mall of Asia Arena on August 23.

The actor highlighted his positive experience watching Under Parallel Skies, the 2024 romantic drama starring Thai actor Win Metawin and Filipino actress Janella Salvador. The film, set in Hong Kong, was produced as a Filipino-Thai collaboration and became an example of how artists from both countries can successfully share the screen.

Way-Ar praised the pairing of Metawin and Salvador and expressed hope that he could eventually take part in a similar cross-border production. His comments underscore the potential for more Thailand-Philippines collaborations as Asian entertainment continues to reach wider international audiences.

Best known for his work in the Thai boys love genre, Way-Ar has built a strong following alongside his on-screen partner Gawin Caskey. The duo, widely recognized by fans as JossGawin, have appeared together in several productions, including the supernatural romance series My Golden Blood.

Their partnership will continue in the upcoming romance-action series Round One, where Way-Ar is set to portray a mixed martial arts fighter, giving him an opportunity to explore a more physically demanding role.

Meanwhile, the Thai stars faced a tough challenge on the basketball court during the Star Magic All-Star Games. The visiting team was defeated by the Star Magic lineup led by Gerald Anderson, with the Filipino side securing an 83-51 victory.

Way-Ar's visit adds another layer to the growing cultural and entertainment exchange between Thailand and the Philippines, with his openness to future collaborations potentially paving the way for more Filipino-Thai productions.
