ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime has reached another major digital
milestone, recording more than 10 billion social media views across
Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok since the program began expanding its online
presence in 2016.
The achievement underscores how the long-running noontime
program has extended its influence well beyond traditional television. Its
digital platforms have become an important part of the viewing experience,
allowing audiences in the Philippines and overseas to stay connected with the
show wherever they are.
The milestone coincides with the 10th anniversary of
Showtime Online U, the program’s dedicated online extension. Over the past
decade, the platform has developed into more than a digital companion to the
television broadcast. It has created additional opportunities for viewers to
interact, participate in activities, and engage with the show in real time.
The anniversary festivities recently brought together
Showtime Online U hosts Wize Estabillo, AC Soriano, Nicki Morena, Lorraine
Galvez, JM Dela Cerna, Marielle Montellano, Anthony Castillo, Anne Tenorio,
Jannah Alanise, Mackie Empuerto, Eris Gonzaga, and Zeah Pala.
The celebration featured performances, games, and audience
activities at the Dolphy Theater, giving the online program's hosts an
opportunity to mark a decade of connecting with viewers through a rapidly
changing digital landscape.
The continued growth of It’s Showtime online reflects a
broader shift in how Filipino audiences consume entertainment. Television
remains central to the program, but social media has effectively multiplied its
points of contact. A single segment can now reach viewers through several
platforms, generate conversations, and continue attracting engagement long
after its original broadcast.
With It’s Showtime approaching its 17th year on air,
the program is also preparing to deliver more of the segments and special
events that have helped sustain its following.
Among the anticipated highlights is Magpasikat, the
show’s signature showcase that brings its hosts together for elaborate
performances and celebrations with the madlang people.
From its television beginnings to its enormous social media footprint, It’s Showtime has demonstrated that longevity in modern entertainment increasingly depends on the ability to evolve across platforms while preserving the audience connection that made the program successful in the first place.
