Kathryn Bernardo Joins Madame Tussauds Hong Kong With New Wax Figure Honoring Filipino Talent

Kathryn Bernardo has secured another landmark achievement in her career after becoming the newest Filipino celebrity to receive a wax figure at Madame Tussauds. The internationally recognized attraction officially introduced her lifelike sculpture during a public launch held at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati on July 9, giving fans an exclusive preview before its permanent transfer to Hong Kong.

Beginning July 17, visitors to Madame Tussauds Hong Kong will be able to see the actress' meticulously crafted figure alongside an expanding collection of influential personalities from across Asia and the world.

The recognition places Kathryn among an elite circle of Filipinos honored by Madame Tussauds. She now joins boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, beauty queens Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray, and actress and television host Anne Curtis, whose wax figures also represent the country's achievements on the global stage.

More than a display piece, each Madame Tussauds figure symbolizes cultural influence and international relevance. The painstaking process behind every sculpture involves months of research and craftsmanship, with artists carefully reproducing facial features, hairstyle, makeup, body proportions, and wardrobe to achieve an extraordinary level of realism.

Kathryn's figure faithfully recreates her appearance during the 2023 Outstanding Asian Star Awards in Seoul, where she earned international recognition for her accomplishments in entertainment. It also showcases the original gown created by acclaimed Filipino fashion designer Martin Bautista, preserving one of the defining moments of her career.

Reflecting on the honor, Kathryn said the wax figure serves as proof that ambitious dreams can become reality and that Filipino talent deserves recognition beyond the country's borders. She expressed pride in representing the Philippines and hoped the milestone would inspire fellow Filipinos to believe in their own potential.

According to Wade Chang, Gateway Hong Kong General Manager for Merlin Entertainments, Kathryn's inclusion continues Madame Tussauds Hong Kong's commitment to celebrating outstanding Filipino achievers across multiple industries. He noted that the attraction has long recognized the remarkable impact of Filipino artists, athletes, and public figures, as well as the unwavering support they receive from their fans.

The unveiling attracted Kathryn's family, friends from the entertainment industry, members of the media, and devoted supporters from both the Philippines and abroad, many of whom gathered to witness the historic reveal before the figure's relocation.

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong offers immersive galleries dedicated to film, music, fashion, sports, and popular culture, allowing visitors to interact with remarkably lifelike figures of globally celebrated personalities. Kathryn Bernardo's addition further strengthens the museum's growing representation of Asian excellence while highlighting the continued rise of Filipino talent on the international stage.
