Jerry Yan’s Heartfelt Reflection Becomes the Defining
Moment of F4’s Philippine Reunion
The long-awaited F Forever 1st World Tour stop at the
Philippine Arena on June 27 was more than a reunion concert. It became an
evening where music, memories, and the passage of time came together, reminding
fans why F4 continues to hold a special place in their hearts even after two
decades.
Among the night's biggest highlights was Jerry Yan's
emotional solo segment. Rather than simply performing, the Taiwanese actor
paused to reflect on love, loss, and the memories people carry long after
relationships have ended.
He spoke about how youthful love often feels permanent, only
for time to reveal that some people are meant to accompany us for only part of
life's journey. While those relationships eventually end, the experiences
remain vivid enough to remember voices, emotions, and even the smallest details
years later.
Jerry also shared his belief that life's deepest regret is
not losing someone, but realizing that the person who once made your heart race
has quietly become nothing more than a memory. Yet he balanced that bittersweet
thought with a message of gratitude, explaining that every relationship leaves
behind valuable lessons. Loving someone and being loved, he suggested, is
meaningful even if the story does not last forever.
His words resonated throughout the arena, drawing loud
cheers from the audience. Many longtime fans interpreted the monologue as a
tribute to his Meteor Garden co-star Barbie Hsu, who passed away in 2025,
making the moment even more emotional for those who followed the iconic series.
The concert itself celebrated F4's enduring legacy in the
Philippines. Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, and Van Ness Wu reunited on stage to perform
a collection of classic hits that instantly transported fans back to the Meteor
Garden era.
The evening opened with Always Be My Bro and Ask for More
before Van Ness thanked supporters who had patiently waited for the group to
perform together again. He acknowledged how significant the reunion was for the
members themselves and expressed gratitude that it had finally become a
reality. He also delighted the crowd with a Filipino greeting, telling fans
that he loved them.
Jerry warmly greeted the audience by telling them how much
he had missed them, pointing toward different sections of the packed arena as
fans responded with deafening applause.
Van Ness later recognized Mayday frontman Ashin, crediting
him for helping bring the reunion project to life. Without his support, he
said, the concert would not have happened.
Each member was given an opportunity to showcase individual
performances. Van Ness energized the crowd with Dance Until We Die and U Are
the Reason, combining dynamic choreography with powerful vocals. Vic Chou
shifted the atmosphere with heartfelt renditions of Zui Te Bie De Cun Zai and
Tell Me Why before closing his solo stage with the upbeat Make a Wish, complete
with colorful visuals and playful production.
Jerry returned for his own spotlight, performing fan
favorites including Insomnia Letter before delivering Wo Shi Zhen De Zhen De
Hen Ai Ni, another song that drew an emotional response from the audience.
The reunion performances continued with Can't Lose You,
Party Animal alongside Ashin, and a rendition of Elvis Presley's Can't Help
Falling in Love, each song reinforcing the group's lasting connection with
Filipino fans.
One of the night's most nostalgic moments arrived when the
trio performed Ni Yao De Ai, a beloved soundtrack from Meteor Garden. For many
in attendance, it was a reminder that certain songs can preserve memories much
like old photographs, capturing emotions that remain untouched despite the
passing years.
F4 concluded the concert with Meteor Rain, extending the
finale to spend a little more time with the audience before saying goodbye. As
the evening came to a close, Van Ness left fans with a heartfelt message,
saying that while every good thing eventually ends, the memories created that
night would remain with them forever.
The overwhelming response inside the Philippine Arena proved that F4's bond with Filipino fans has endured across generations. Two decades after first capturing audiences through Meteor Garden, the group's music and shared memories continue to resonate, turning a reunion concert into a celebration of nostalgia, friendship, and lasting appreciation.
