David Licauco delivered another standout performance on the
international fitness stage after recording the fastest finish by a Filipino
competitor at HYROX Jakarta 2026.
The actor crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 7 minutes, and
38 seconds, establishing the quickest time posted by any Filipino participant
across all age categories during the Jakarta event. His performance also
secured ninth place in the men's 30 to 34 division and 28th overall in the
men's open field, which featured 1,221 competitors.
The latest result highlights Licauco's steady progress in
one of the world's most demanding fitness competitions. He shaved 10 seconds
off his previous personal record of 1:07:48, which he achieved during his HYROX
debut in Taipei earlier this year. That event also saw him finish as the
highest-performing Filipino entrant.
Success in HYROX is measured not only by speed but also by
an athlete's ability to sustain peak performance under continuous physical
stress. Competitors must complete eight one-kilometer runs, with each run
followed by a functional workout station. The format demands endurance,
strength, and efficient pacing, making even small improvements in finishing
time a significant accomplishment.
Following the race, Licauco expressed his gratitude to
everyone who supported his journey by sharing photos from the event on
Instagram. He also signaled that he has no plans of slowing down and remains
focused on raising his level in future competitions.
His latest achievement further strengthens his growing
reputation in competitive fitness, proving that consistent preparation and
incremental gains can translate into impressive results on the international
stage.
