Daniel Padilla to Lead Bad Boy 4 with Kaila Estrada as Robin Padilla Passes Franchise Legacy Forward

The long-running Bad Boy film franchise is entering a new phase as its legacy transitions to a younger generation of Filipino actors. Originally established in 1990, the series played a defining role in shaping Robin Padilla’s screen persona and was later followed by Bad Boy II in 1992. After more than three decades, the franchise has been revived with Bad Boy 3, setting the stage for its continuation.

At the center of the next installment is Daniel Padilla, who is expected to take on the lead role in Bad Boy 4. The development was disclosed by Rommel Padilla, who confirmed that the project is currently underway and positioned as a deliberate handover of the franchise’s identity to younger talent. He emphasized that the next chapter is being shaped with continuity in mind, linking the origins of the series with its future direction.

Kaila Estrada is also set to be part of the film, with Rommel indicating that she will serve as Daniel’s leading lady. Their on-screen pairing is intended to be a central element of the upcoming installment, reinforcing both narrative continuity and renewed audience appeal.

The transition follows remarks made during the Bad Boy 3 screening, where Robin Padilla acknowledged the shift in direction of the franchise. As he moves further into public service, he signaled openness to passing the iconic “bad boy” identity to younger actors who can carry it forward.

In effect, the franchise is being treated as a generational relay. The foundation laid in the 1990s is now being extended, with Bad Boy 4 positioned as both a continuation and a reinterpretation of the original cinematic identity.
