Filipino drag queen Minty Fresh is set to represent the Philippines on the latest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs The World. The homegrown performer is making her debut on the international franchise, aiming to showcase Filipino talent on a global stage.
Minty Fresh is joining fellow Filipino contestants Melinda Verga and Zahirah Zapanta, providing a sense of familiarity and support while competing abroad. Being far from home, Minty said having fellow countrymates on the show eased the pressures of competing internationally.
The opportunity came as a surprise. Minty Fresh was on a night out in a Grab ride when she received the call to join the competition. Despite initial nerves, she embraced the challenge, ready to carry the pride of the Philippine drag community onto the international stage.
